Schmitt Music will relocate from its Minnesota headquarters from Brooklyn Center to Bloomington in the second half of 2022, according to multiple media reports.

The music retailer recently bought 92,000-square-foot building previously occupied by local school photography company Lifetouch Inc. at 7800 Picture Drive, near the Interstate 494 and Highway 100 interchange, from parent company Shutterfly, reported the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This new headquarters is a major milestone for Schmitt Music,” said Peter Schmitt in a statement. “We look forward to creating a space that becomes one of the best music store destinations in the country, offering showrooms, instrument sales, music lessons and events.”  

Schmitt Music operates 13 stores in six states.
