Zoom Appoints First Creative Director

Zoom North America hired the company’s first-ever creative director, Carmelo Bongiovi.

Carmelo comes to Zoom North America after working as a creative marketing leader at various New York City area advertising agencies and media companies over the course of his career. He has led digital and creative studios, as well as contributing to strengthen the brand identity for clients such as JP Morgan Chase, Amazon, Hilton, and various food & wine and CPG brands. Having worked for an ad agency that focused on live entertainment and music, Carmelo noted his enthusiasm for helping the Zoom brand speak to its identified audience of “creators.”

“Carmelo is a great addition to the Zoom marketing team,” said David Via, Zoom North America vice president of marketing. “As digital content continues to expand, we are looking how we can best connect with our customers, while maintaining a consistent brand voice and look. Carmelo and his experience is key to further evolving our communication methods with the vast creator community.”

Leveraging Zoom’s digital footprint to connect with its audiences, Bongiovi will focus on digital advertising, storytelling through content, and expanding the brand’s social media platform strategy to reach and engage online users.

“I am so excited to be a part of Zoom and to work with this established marketing team,” stated Bongiovi. “The most exciting part of this next step in my career is that it feels like a culmination of my experience in which I’ve been blessed to work with passionate artists in music, film, and entertainment. I look forward in helping to not only reach this community, but also help convey how we continue to empower creators to create.”
